Overview

The town of Kendall is in northeast Orleans County, bordering Monroe County on the east, Lake Ontario on the north, the town of Murray to the south and the town of Carlton to the west. Kendall has several hamlets, including one also named Kendall. The Kendall Central School District serves residents who live here. Because the town sits on the southern shore on Lake Ontario, fishing and boating are popular here, and you’ll find Eagle Creek Marina and Eagle Creek Yacht Club.

The Kendall Central School District serves residents in Kendall and part of the town of Murray. The district has two schools, an elementary school and a junior-senior high school. The closest libraries in Orleans County are in Holley, a short drive south, and in Albion, just to the southwest of Kendall. The town of Hamlin, to the east in Monroe County, also has a library. 



Recreation & Entertainment

Fishing, boating and other outdoor activities are the big draws here. Hamlin Beach State Park, which has a beautiful beach, camping, hiking, and other amenities, is a quick 8-mile trip east. If you’re looking for movie theaters, the closest are in Brockport, a short drive southeast, and Batavia, to the southwest. The Sunset Drive In, where you can catch outdoor movies during warm-weather seasons, is about 30 miles southwest in Middleport. 



Transportation & Traffic

Route 237 is the main north-south roadway, running right through Kendall and taking you to or from the Lake Ontario State Parkway, to the north of Kendall. Route 18, known as Roosevelt Highway in town, is the main east-west access. Route 104, a major east-west highway, is just south of Kendall.



Pros & Cons

You’re on the lakeshore in Kendall and bordering Monroe County (the town of Hamlin, where Hamlin Beach State Park is located). The College at Brockport, part of the State University College system, is a close trip southeast. Kendall also is nearby the fishing mecca of Point Breeze and Oak Orchard Harbor.
