Essentials

For groceries, head to Canandaigua (about 10 miles east), where you’ll find a Wegmans supermarket on Eastern Boulevard (Routes 5 & 20) and a Top’s Friendly Markets supermarket on Route 332. Canandaigua also has a vibrant retail scene on Main Street and national retailers, like Walmart, on Eastern Boulevard..

Recreation & Entertainment

Other than outdoor activities like hiking and hunting, most entertainment options are nearby in neighboring towns. Canandaigua Lake, of course, is extremely popular in the summertime for boaters. Canandaigua also has a movie-theater complex, a waterpark, Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Site, and more.

Transportation & Traffic

Routes 5 & 20 – which runs concurrently with Route 64 in East Bloomfield – is the main highway in the area, running diagonally northwest-southeast in town. The roadway is wonderful for a “Sunday drive,” going through small towns with interesting shops and attractions.

Pros & Cons

East Bloomfield certainly is a small town with a low-key atmosphere. There’s a lot of history in this rural farming community. You’re close to Canandaigua and Victor here without the traffic hassles.
