Welcome to Cherry Creek, NY

Overview

Cherry Creek is a town in the central part of the eastern edge of Chautauqua County, bordered to the north by Villenova, to the east by Cattaraugus County (town of Leon), to the south by Ellington and to the west by Charlotte (and the village of Sinclairville). The town of Cherry Creek contains a village of the same name.



Essentials

Other than a small Crossroads Grocery store on Main Street, you’ll have to travel a short distance for shopping needs. For groceries, there’s a Tops Friendly Markets store in Randolph, Cattaraugus County, about 14 miles southeast of Cherry Creek. In Jamestown, about 20 miles southwest of Cherry Creek, you’ll find a Wegmans supermarket, a Tops Friendly Markets store, a Save-a-Lot and much more.



Recreation & Entertainment

The town’s many waterways and rural character make Cherry Creek popular for outdoor events like fishing, camping, hiking, kayaking and more. Most everything else is a short drive from here. Jamestown has the most attractionWebb’s Year-Round Resort is in Mayville, about 30 miles west of Cherry Creek. Fredonia has an opera house and more and is about 19 miles northwest.



Transportation & Traffic

Route 83 is a major north-south highway on the east side of Cherry Creek.



Pros & Cons

This is small-town living at its best, with lots of wide-open space to enjoy nature. There’s not much development here, so you’ll have to drive a ways for most shopping and other things to do.
